Sometimes it’s hard to remember to breathe. The days bleed into each other, and eyes grow heavier and heavier, and the body becomes ridden with exhaustion that it never fully recovers from. Perhaps this is the cost of growing older.
The sun spills onto the ground, warming it up as tiny green fingers poke through the ground. The ground hugs each new petal tightly as they emerge. Birds chirp and flutter about, singing to spring, pulling it nearer and nearer. Squirrels flick their tails and chitter in the trees as the wind whistles softly between branches. The sun smiles between clouds, and life begins to unfold itself, pulling in the warmth. Life can be so beautiful at times, yet harsh.
As time unravels, the ground becomes more lush and paints itself in vibrant color. The air becomes sweeter and fresher for the lungs, and a reminder sets in to breathe in everything and out what you no longer need. Steady breaths like waves hitting shorelines and retreating. Today is a new day, and while life might not always come easy or be seen for its beauty, we have to remember to appreciate the little things; something I too forget about when life is flustered instead of full of flutters.
